Have you ever been this comfy? I have never. Not even as a baby, I guarantee. NEVER.

If we’re gonna hashtag #mentalhealthmatters we should keep in mind that all mental health matters. I’ve seen posts today which highlight a bit of a divide, e.g. “if you suffer from depression or anxiety you are not alone and you don’t need to be ashamed.” That’s amazing, I’m so glad times and attitudes have progressed - but what about the others? Saying ‘it’s ok to not be ok’ loses its impact if you’re not inclusive about it. Some versions of not ok look like delusions and hallucinations, obsessions, addiction, lashing out, self-destructiveness, paranoia, dissociation, impulsivity, recklessness and more. Does empathy only extend as far as the behaviour we deem socially acceptable? On this day it can feel like you still don’t matter if you suffer from a disorder that’s got a bad rep or a shitty stigma. You really do matter. 🙂 Whatever your diagnosis you are fucking well important. X #worldmentalhealthday
